The mission of TIC Council's Commodities committee consists in defining and overseeing an overall strategy for the TIC industry in the field of commodities inspection. The four key objectives of the committee are detailed below:
- Oversee deployment of agreed strategies by Commodity working groups and the Secretariat
- Ensure strategic relationships and alliances are nurtured and maintained with key stakeholders
- Monitor issues likely to impact the TIC industry in this field and act swiftly on them
- Ensuring an ongoing flow of communication between the Commodities Committee and the various working groups
