Brussels and Bogota, 18 April 2023-TIC Council and the Asociación Colombiana de Organismos de Evaluación de la Conformidad (ASOCEC) have announced the signature of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to solidify the relationship between the two associations and establish a formal mechanism for sharing information and coordinating joint activities.
 
Through this MoU, ASOCEC and TIC Council will aim at creating synergies and promoting collaboration to advance effective and robust conformity assessment policies in Colombia. To that end, the two associations will exchange views and, wherever possible, coordinate positions on policy matters of interest.
 
TIC Council Director General Hanane Taidi stated: “TIC Council is excited to establish this relationship with ASOCEC. Both parties will benefit from exchanging international conformity assessment best practices that supports and strengthen Colombia’s Quality Infrastructure eco-system. TIC Council commits to making this MoU a successful example of international cooperation within our sector.”
 
ASOCEC’s Executive President Ramon Madrinan stated: “During the last years, ASOCEC and TIC Council have been working together in a series of initiatives. These include, among others, TIC Council´s active participation in ASOCEC´s Pan-American Laboratory Symposium. Both institutions share their relentless interest in the advancement of conformity assessment. The signing of this document will allow for further exchange of international best practices between ASOCEC and TIC Council.  Hence, this MoU comes at the right time to foster the consolidation of international cooperation within the quality services industry.”
