Brussels, 9 February– TIC Council, the global association representing the testing, inspection and certification (TIC) sector, has appointed Naozad Hodiwala as Executive Director of TIC Council Europe to lead and expand its advocacy in Brussels.

In this role, Hodiwala will steer TIC Council’s engagement with EU institutions at a time when European rulemaking is reshaping the Single Market, industrial policy and the conditions for responsible innovation. He will work closely with policymakers, businesses, civil society, and other stakeholders to advance members’ priorities on sustainability, competitiveness and digital innovation, while positioning the TIC sector as a strategic partner for a safer and more resilient Single Market.

Hodiwala brings over 15 years of experience in EU public affairs, regulatory engagement and stakeholder coordination. Prior to joining TIC Council, he served as Country Coordinator and Brussels Liaison at the International Centre for Migration Policy Development (ICMPD), where he engaged with EU institutions and Member States, coordinated advocacy strategies, and monitored political and regulatory risks across complex, across multi-country dossiers.

“I am honoured to lead TIC Council Europe and to champion the essential role our members play in safeguarding citizens, supporting innovation and strengthening markets through smart EU regulation. In a world of accelerating technological change, geopolitical uncertainty and complex supply chains, the TIC sector remains one of the last bastions of trust — engineering confidence through independent testing, inspection and certification,” said Naozad Hodiwala.

“I am delighted to welcome Naozad to TIC Council Europe. He brings deep Brussels experience and a strong understanding of how effective EU rules can reinforce both innovation and trust. He will be a key voice for our members as we step up our engagement with EU institutions. I would also like to warmly thank Martin Michelot, who is leaving TIC Council after six remarkable years. He laid the foundations of our Brussels presence and built a strong network that Naozad will now take forward,” said Hanane Taidi, Director General of TIC Council.
