Brussels, 21 January 2026 — TIC Council is proud to announce the launch of the Sustainability Process Certification scheme website, marking the first certification scheme developed and owned by the association.
Developed together with TIC Council member companies AmSpec, Applus+, Bureau Veritas, DEKRA, Intertek, RINA, SGS, TÜV AUSTRIA, TÜV Rheinland, TÜV SÜD, and UL Solutions, the scheme is designed for businesses and organisations managing sustainability data. It supports a wide range of data use cases such as sustainability reporting, product declarations, digital product passports, and internal performance management, among others.
Applicable globally and across sectors, the scheme is compatible with other verification programmes, including Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs). By strengthening internal controls and streamlining claims verification, it enables assurance to be simpler, faster, and scalable, reducing duplication and administrative burden while strengthening confidence in environmental data and claims.
Sustainability Process Certification will be intensively promoted throughout 2026 and will seek active engagement with regulators and environmental programme operators worldwide, including through its Stakeholder Committee, to explore synergies, support mutual recognition, and strengthen interoperability across frameworks.
TIC Council remains committed to supporting industry as it meets evolving compliance expectations and advances sustainability objectives. Drawing on the trust, technical expertise, and global experience of its members, it will continue to advance robust, future-ready testing, inspection, and certification solutions that enable companies to navigate emerging challenges with confidence and translate new requirements into demonstrable progress.
