TIC Council is happy to announce the release of its Guidelines for Double Materiality Assessment, designed to support TIC companies in aligning with the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) and the European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS). These voluntary guidelines offer a comprehensive framework to identify impacts, risks, and opportunities across the TIC sector.

Purpose and Scope

In the absence of sector-specific standards for the TIC industry, this document provides a suggested methodology for conducting double materiality assessments, empowering companies to navigate sustainability topics effectively. The guidelines categorize materiality into two key areas:

  • TIC Sector Material: Topics universally material across the sector.
  • Company Potentially Material: Topics dependent on specific factors such as activity mix, geographical presence, stakeholder landscape, and business model.

This document is accompanied by an Excel empty template for companies to conduct their double materiality assessment, and calculate their impacts, risks and opportunities following the measuring system enforced in the ESRS.

Upcoming Webinar

To provide further insights into the Guidelines, TIC Council will host a webinar for members on 20 February at 12:00 CET. This session will explore the document in detail and answer any questions.
