Job Description: Policy & Communications Manager

Reports to: Executive Director, India

The role is responsible for supporting the Executive Director India in identifying, researching, and preparing outreach and advocacy campaigns to reach India policymakers and regulators, industry, consumer organizations, and NGOs to advance TIC Council goals to enhance awareness about the value of the TIC sector. (Testing, Inspection and Certification)

The position will include:

  • Policy research and drafting of positioning and communication materials
  • Stakeholder research and outreach
  • Design and implementation of social media campaigns
  • Management of TIC Council Committees with direct exposure to experts from multinational companies
  • Cross functional coordination with staff in Brussels (HQ), Americas, and Asia
  • Supporting in data analytics and promoting the communications strategies
  • Designing Social Media campaigns
  • Administration of committees’ work
  • Research support in the development of policy and stakeholder mapping and outreach

The selected candidate will be getting insights and provided with:

  • Exposed to developing policy strategy, policy development and outreach campaigns
  • Exposure on standardization and conformity assessment and its role within quality infrastructure
  • Experience in working with industry stakeholders’ regulators and legislators to develop consensus positions.

Further, candidates will gain valuable insight into the TIC industry that employs over one million employees (often in high-wage STEM jobs) scattered in more than 160 countries around the globe confirming the safety and reliability of products, systems, and services, and protecting the safety and security of consumer and national interests. Areas of focus include Digitalization (Cybersecurity, AI, IoT), Trade, ESG (Environmental, Sustainability, and Governance), and Consumer Product Safety and Compliance.

Essential Qualifications to Apply

Candidates should be graduate in political sciences/international affairs/marketing and Communications or equivalent and they need to master the following skills:

  • Excellent Communications Skills (oral and written) with a track record of story-telling and convincing narrative writing
  • Good understanding of regulatory framework in India with preferred experience working in public policy area
  • Mastering Digital communications channels and language
  • Event management
  • Organised, methodical and structured in thinking and writing
  • Able to identify opportunities to report and act on them.
  • Able to build relationship and own relevant network.
  • Self-starter and team player
  • Able to work in a remote multi-cultural environment.
