Job Description

TIC Council India is seeking a motivated and experienced Policy Advocacy Lead to support and strengthen engagement with key stakeholders including government authorities, regulatory agencies, industry bodies, and strategic partners. This role is instrumental in shaping and advancing the Council’s policy priorities and communicating the value of the Testing, Inspection, and Certification (TIC) sector.

 

Key Responsibilities

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive engagement strategy with government officials, regulators, and policymakers at the central, state, and local levels, based on member priorities.
  • Build and maintain strategic relationships with relevant stakeholders to promote policy goals and identify opportunities for collaboration.
  • Forge coalitions with industry peers and associations to present a unified stance on shared policy objectives.

Advocacy and Communication

  • Prepare advocacy materials including policy briefs, position papers, and background notes.
  • Coordinate the development of talking points, agendas, and briefing materials for high-level meetings.
  • Ensure messaging and policy positions are consistent across all internal and external communications.

Strategic Support

  • Contribute to the development and execution of TIC Council India’s advocacy strategy, aligned with national policies and member interests.
  • Establish and nurture relationships with external stakeholders, including government representatives, regulators, and industry leaders.

Internal Coordination:

  • Collaborate with member companies, the Regional Steering Committee (RSC), and relevant experts to align on advocacy initiatives.
  • Actively engage with the Public Affairs subcommittee to ensure integrated, strategic action across campaigns.

Qualifications

  • Graduates or post-graduates in political sciences/international affairs/economics/or equivalent
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in policy advocacy, regulatory affairs, public affairs, or a similar role—preferably with an industry association, think tank, consultancy, or government relations team.
  • Strong understanding of the Indian regulatory landscape, including ministries, standard-setting bodies, and industry dynamics.
  • Organised, methodical and structured in thinking and writing
  • Self-starter and team player
  • Able to work in a remote multi-cultural environment.

 

Salary & Location

  • Salary Range: INR 20,00,000/- Per annum
  • The candidate is likely to work remotely.
