TIC Council is recruiting a Certification Scheme Manager to oversee the daily operation and further development of the Sustainability Process Certification Scheme (SPC). The Certification Scheme Manager will be a project manager responsible for the effective management, integrity and continuous improvement of the SPC scheme, in line with internationally recognised conformity assessment principles and TIC Council governance rules. The role combines operational management of the scheme with strategic input into its development, marketing and positioning. The successful applicant will work closely with the scheme’s Committees and members, and report to the Sustainability Director of TIC Council.
The position is based in Brussels, with the possibility of remote work and flexible conditions, and it starts as soon as possible.
The Sustainability Process Certification scheme is a new, global certification scheme, owned and developed by TIC Council. It is aimed at certifying the sustainability processes that companies use to manage their ESG data, and particularly environmental data. The goal is a trusted data management that helps companies in reporting reliable data, setting their environmental objectives, providing verified sustainability data to their stakeholders. TIC Council is the association representing the Testing, Inspection and Certification sector worldwide, with a presence in Brussels, Washington DC, India and China. With members active in more than 160 countries, TIC Council has a truly global footprint and plays a central role in shaping conformity assessment systems at international level.
Responsibilities
- Manage the day-to-day operation of the Sustainability Process Certification Scheme, acting as the main point of contact for applicants, certification bodies, assessors and stakeholders.
- Manage the application reviews and yearly renewals of participants of the scheme.
- Manage the peer assessment process.
- Support and coordinate the work of the SPC governance bodies, including Management, Technical and Stakeholder Committees.
- Monitor relevant standards and normative developments and manage updates, transitions and revisions of the scheme.
- Ensure proper handling of complaints, confidentiality obligations and record keeping.
- Contribute to system development activities, including guidance documents, training materials, communication tools and online presence.
- Manage the scheme budget.
- With the support of the Management and Technical Committees, implement and maintain the system rules, procedures and documentation, ensuring consistent application of the scheme.
- Organise, together with the members, the marketing activities for the scheme.
- Prepare marketing documents such as presentations and brochures.
- Contact industrial and regulatory stakeholders to present the scheme.
- Manage the scheme’s website and communications, together with TIC Council’s communications team.
- Map the marketing opportunities, including international fairs, symposiums and conferences.
- Represent TIC Council and SPC in international conferences, including as a speaker.
Profile
- 1-3 years of professional experience in project management, sustainability or certification industry.
- Fluency in English required (oral and written); additional languages are an asset.
- Relevant academic background in engineering, sustainability, quality management, conformity assessment or related fields.
- A solid understanding of certification systems, conformity assessment, accreditation or standards-based schemes is a plus.
- Strong organisational and project management skills with very high attention to detail and ability to manage complex processes.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to interact with technical experts and senior stakeholders.
- Proactive, reliable and able to work independently in a structured and transparent manner.
- Previous professional experience in certification, standardisation or quality infrastructure is a strong asset.
