TIC Council hosted a webinar on 3, 6 and 7 Dec 2021 to sensitise the participants on requirements related to ISO/IEC 17029, ICAO-CORSIA requirements and changes which will be implemented while transiting from ISO 14065 to ISO/IEC 17029.

Dr. Aparna Dhawan started the webinar providing a brief outline about the three days sessions and introduced about the activities of TIC Council. An update about the CASCO tool box was provided and. She also informed the participants about the requirements of the standard and its importance.

Ms. Stefanie Vehring provided an update about the requirements of ISO/IEC 17029 explaining the definitions. She explained the difference between validation and verification and its applications in different areas. Examples related to the applications of the standard in different areas was discussed in detail. Requirements related to various clauses was discussed in detail. On second day of the session requirements related to programme was explained. The participants raised series of questions and responses to same was provided and the session resulted in great interest in the requirements of the standard and discussions. 

Next, Dr. Aparna Dhawan,  highlighted the key differences between application of ISO/IEC 17029 and ISO 14065. She also provided the participants with clauses where the implementation to be done when transiting from ISO 14065 to ISO/IEC 17029.

Ms. Ekta Agrawal discussed the ICAO-CORSIA requirements and the challenges faced during implementation of the CORSIA scheme as an Indian regulator. Details related to role of airline operators and verification bodies were clearly explained, as well as the challenges faced as a result of implementing the programme after the onset of COVID-19 pandemic.

The webinar was attended  by over 80 persons from different countries and backgrounds.
