TIC Council is delighted to announce the latest addition to our Safety Codes portfolio, the Petroleum and Petrochemicals Laboratory Safety Code.

This new document follows up on the Field Inspection Safety Code, and is aimed at improving and promoting the safety of laboratories that provide services to the petroleum and petrochemical industries, providing best practice recommendations to address the inherent risks involved in these facilities.

The Code is a comprehensive document that provides guidance to laboratory management staff on how to assess, manage, and document risks in laboratories. It also encourages TIC council member companies to use appropriate tools to proactively assess and eliminate risks where possible and minimize them where not.

Moreover, the Code is a living document that will be regularly updated based on feedback from stakeholders and the experiences of TIC Council members. This collaborative effort ensures that the Safety Code remains relevant and effective in managing risks.
