TIC Council is happy to announce the release of our latest White Paper titled “Trustworthiness of Artificial Intelligence”.
Artificial intelligence (AI) is reshaping technology with rapid progress across sectors, offering immense opportunities but, at the same time, posing significant challenges. Breakthroughs like autonomous vehicles and personalised healthcare systems demonstrate potential while demanding careful consideration for trust and risk mitigation. The dynamic AI ecosystem involves diverse stakeholders, necessitating transparent and accountable systems to address the issues of reliability, security, and ethics. All around the world, frameworks are being developed such as the United States Executive Order of 30 October 2023, the Chinese future “Artificial Intelligence Law” or the EU's AI Act which all aim to govern AI development ethically. However, global harmonisation and operationalising standards remain challenges.
This paper aims to highlight the crucial role of the Testing, Inspection, and Certification (TIC) industry in building trust within the AI landscape and to present TIC Council’s recommendations for a trustworthy AI, based on the existing AI frameworks and a scientific discussion of the challenges ahead.
We would like to invite you to explore the paper and utilise its findings to help build trust in AI.
The paper will be further explored at the TIC Council Summit 2024 which will focus on “How to build trust in Artificial Intelligence?”. Join us on 14 May in Brussels for TIC Summit 2024, which will bring together global voices currently working on AI from academia, industry, and regulatory points of view to discuss what it takes to build trust in AI.
