Ms. Hanane Taidi, Director General of TIC Council, opened the day with a powerful message on the growing global demand for trusted assurance systems. Dr. Michael Fübi, Chairman of TÜV Rheinland Group and President of TIC Council, followed with a keynote titled “Quality at the Crossroads,”. While defining the enduring relevance of TIC, he remarked, “We stand for integrity: offering neutral, objective assessments in an era that often blurs truth and assumption.”
Shri Arun K. Singh, former Indian envoy to the US, France, and Israel, delivered a thoughtful address on how global power shifts are impacting India’s strategic and economic positioning. In his theme address, Shri Chakravarthy T. Kannan, Secretary General of the Quality Council of India, stressed that India’s aspirations to become a developed economy hinge on embedding quality, standards, and regulatory compliance into every part of the nation’s economic engine.
A high-energy panel discussion was expertly moderated by Mr. Rakesh Khar, Editor – English, TV9 Network, who set the tone for the discussion by highlighting the critical enablers of India’s development journey. As he noted, “India’s transformation into a developed economy will be driven by the five I’s — Imagination (re-imagination), Innovation, Integrity, Institutionalisation, and Impact.” Speakers included:

In a special session titled “Trade and Innovation for a Confident India,” Dr. Annurag Batra, Chairman and Editor-in-Chief of BW Businessworld and Founder of Exchange4Media Group, emphasized that India’s rise isn’t just about scale—it’s about credibility. He called for closer collaboration among policymakers, industry, and media to shape India’s global image as a trusted and capable partner.
A key highlight of the event was the launch of TIC Council India’s policy paper, “Protecting Modern Advanced Metering Infrastructure in the Age of AI.” The paper flags emerging cybersecurity threats to smart metering and advocates for a security-by-design approach, clear certification pathways, and harmonized standards to safeguard future-ready infrastructure.
The Council also paid tribute to Mr. Amit Ghosh, former Chair of TIC Council India, on the occasion of his retirement, honoring his significant contributions and leadership in strengthening the TIC ecosystem in the country.
Mr. Amit Thakkar, current Chair of TIC Council India, closed the summit by reaffirming the sector’s dedication to helping India achieve its Viksit Bharat @2047 vision. He said, “The TIC Council team remains committed to serving the industry with professionalism, integrity, and a clear sense of purpose”.
